Nereus Fellow Phil Underwood (Cambridge/UNEP-WCMC) gave a presentation at the Friends of Madingley Symposium on May 6th at the David Attenborough Building, University of Cambridge, which aimed to bring together the community of researchers working on the Madingley Model and to discuss the latest advancements.
The Madingley Model, published in 2014, aims to mathematically simulate all life on Earth “in order to attempt to capture how such processes lead to the structure and function of whole ecosystems” and help address environmental issues.
Underwood presented on his current work and future plans with the model in the marine realm for the Nereus Program.
