Nereus Fellow at UBC Muhammed Oyinlolaattended the ClimEco5 Summer Schoolorganized by the Integrated Marine Biogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research project (IMBER), titled ‘Towards more resilient oceans: Predicting and projecting future changes in the ocean and their impacts on human societies’. The summer school took place from August 10th to August 17th, in Natal, Brazil.
Focusing on ways to to model environmental and anthropogenic problems that challenge the world’s oceans, the summer school featured lectures which examined a range of modelling approaches, data analysis, and other methods with which to address climate and environmental change that are threatening the productivity and sustainability of oceans. Also included were “hands-on” sessions where the participants applied the concepts discussed to a series of analytical methods and models.
