Nereus Program principal investigator Malin Pinsky (Rutgers University) was the focus of a recent article that appeared in ScienceNews and in ScienceNews for Students. The article digs into what inspired a younger Malin to become a marine ecologist, as well as his current innovative interests that are pushing the boundaries of climate change research in regard to warming waters and marine species distributions and fisheries’ responses. Those who know and have worked with him (including Becca Selden) also speak of his impressive work ethic, and the lessons they took with them after leaving his lab at Rutgers in New Brunswick, NJ.

Nereus research fellow Zoë Kitchel is also a current Ph.D. student in the Pinsky lab.
