A report was just released from a workshop that Nereus Program co-organized with the Peter Wall Institute and experts on scenarios and models from the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’s (IPBES), with their technical support unit. The workshop – ‘From visions to scenarios for nature and nature’s contributions to people for the 21st century’ – was held at University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver on March 25-27, 2019. The workshop had 43 participants and centered around the Nature Futures Framework, which familiarized everyone “with the three perspectives of nature for nature, nature for society/people, and nature as culture, and the exploration of how each of these perspectives would shape the future…” Topics discussed focused on “various cross-cutting issues, such as species diversity, indigenous and local knowledge, politics and power, and technology, among others.” More detailed information about the workshop and final report can be found on the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency website.
